Options for kids
Start your child’s smile right with Invisalign First
Invisalign First takes the convenience of regular Invisalign and makes it kid-sized for children who aren’t ready for full orthodontic treatment.
Can a 7-year-old get Invisalign?
Yes, Invisalign First is designed for kids between the ages of 7 and 10 who do not have all of their adult teeth yet but need orthodontic treatment.
If you are skeptical about such a young child being responsible enough to wear removable aligners, you’re not alone. But kids at this age often make better Invisalign patients than teens and adults.
Whether it is because they want to seem grown-up or they are just better rule followers when it comes to professional adults, most young patients do very well with this type of treatment.
The benefits of Invisalign First
Invisalign First is removable, which means kids can eat or drink what they want, as long as they take their aligners out first. The aligners are also removed for brushing and flossing, so kids don’t need to learn how to floss around braces.
Invisalign can be more comfortable than braces, and there is less chance of needing to make an emergency trip to the orthodontists without brackets and wires that can be damaged. It is also less likely that your child will have spots or uneven coloring on their teeth after treatment.
Children’s teeth shift faster than teen or adult teeth, which means their Invisalign treatment will take less time than Invisalign Teen or Invisalign Full.
Should I get Invisalign for my child?
Every child is different, but with the number of success stories increasing, there’s a good chance your child would be a good fit for Invisalign First if they need early orthodontic treatment. To find out, schedule a free exam with Dr. Smith today.
