Braces Options

Some things just never go out of style.
Affordable braces are still the most common type of orthodontic treatment, and with good reason. They are cost-effective and can treat even the toughest orthodontic issues, including crooked or crowded teeth, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites.
How Do Braces Work?
Braces have been working essentially the same way for decades. Brackets are attached to the teeth and wires attached to these brackets gradually move teeth to their desired positions. Once your straight smile is achieved, the wires and brackets are taken off and any remaining adhesive on your teeth is removed.
Braces for Kids
While most kids aren’t excited by the thought of getting braces, they generally adjust to having them quickly. Our team has helped thousands of kids achieve amazing smiles with affordable braces, and with today’s fun options, some kids even look forward to having them.
In addition to traditional braces for kids, we also offer:

Affordable Braces for Adults

Kids aren’t the only ones who come to Smith Orthodontics wanting to improve their smiles - we treat a lot of adults as well. Many of our adult patients opt for Invisalign due to its convenience and invisibility, but some have issues that are best corrected with braces or simply prefer not having to worry about wearing or misplacing the clear aligners.
For adults who want the benefits of braces but don’t want everyone to know they are working on their smile, ceramic braces are a great option because they aren’t as visible as silver braces.
How Much Do Braces Cost?
As with any orthodontic treatment, the cost of braces largely depends on exactly what type of treatment is needed. Having braces for eight months will cost less than having them for two years, but some issues take longer to correct than others. Specialty braces, such as ceramic braces, tend to cost a little more than traditional silver braces, but that is not always the case.
Every patient who comes to Smith Orthodontics for a free consultation is given a written estimate of the treatment cost, and financing options, including insurance, are thoroughly explained.
Braces vs. Invisalign
“Which is better, braces or Invisalign?” We get this question a lot, and unfortunately the answer is different for everyone. For some patients, especially kids, having braces permanently attached to their teeth means they’re getting the treatment they need without having to remember to put their aligners in and being sure not to lose them when they take them out. And as we mentioned earlier, braces will treat some of the tougher orthodontic situations more effectively.
That being said, Invisalign offers many benefits as well, including not having to limit what types of food you eat, being able to thoroughly clean your teeth, and having your treatment be less obvious.
