Can Invisalign Lite Fix Your Smile?

If you’re thinking about getting a better smile, you have more options than ever to choose from! Even the Invisalign Clear Aligner System has improved over the years and now offers multiple levels of treatment. One version of Invisalign that works for many patients is Invisalign Lite.

What Is Invisalign Lite?

Invisalign Lite works the same way Invisalign Full does. You’ll get a digital scan of your teeth that your orthodontist will send to a lab. The Invisalign aligners you’ll use in your treatment will be created from these images.

The only difference is rather than getting 20 to 30 trays, Invisalign Lite comes with fewer trays. This is because Invisalign Lite is designed to treat less severe cases of crookedness than Invisalign Full. And while the full treatment takes roughly 12 to 18 months on average to complete, Invisalign Lite is typically done in six to eight months.

Can Invisalign Lite Fix My Smile?

If you’re trying to improve your smile, you’ll naturally want to know what your quickest treatment option is. As for whether or not Invisalign Lite can fix your smile, it ultimately depends on your need for orthodontic correction.

Many patients who only need moderate tooth movement to get straight teeth are great candidates for Invisalign Lite. In general, if you have only moderate crowding and don’t have very obvious crookedness when you smile, Invisalign Lite should be able to fix your smile. Many patients who already had orthodontic treatment but either lost their retainer or stopped wearing it find that Invisalign Lite is a great option for them as well.

But if you have more serious crookedness, you will be far better off going with a more comprehensive Invisalign treatment, like Invisalign Full. Even though the treatment will take longer to finish, you’ll be very pleased you went through with the treatment when you see the results. One of the best parts of Invisalign is you can start to see the results before you even finish. Plus, you don’t need to worry about food restrictions or abrasive brackets when you have Invisalign.

Completing Treatment

When you start orthodontic treatment, whether you qualify for an abbreviated treatment like Invisalign Lite or you do Invisalign Full, keep in mind it’s more of a marathon than a sprint. Be sure to wear your aligners for the full 22 hours per day to keep your teeth are moving as they should be. When taking them out for meals, you should also make sure they are securely stored in their case where they will not get lost or damaged.

You’ll also put yourself in the best position to complete treatment on time by making it to all of your appointments. Be sure to schedule your next appointment as soon as you can, ideally before you leave the office, and reschedule as soon as possible if you miss an appointment. By following your orthodontist’s instructions closely and taking care of your aligners, you’ll complete your treatment in no time!
